About this event
UPDATE 7/2/24 Registration is closed.
Lodging: We are staying at The Brothers Place, a summer retreat house formerly owned by the Christian Brothers religious order. They are holding 24 single occupancy, twin bed rooms. $50/night per person. Each room has a washbasin, separate dormitory-style showers and baths. A continental breakfast is included. Each room does have electricity.
Deposits are not required; register only if you’re committed. We will pay individually at check-in. The owner accepts cash or check, no credit cards.
Activities: We’ll ride around the island Saturday, @40 miles on mostly hard pack. There are a number of beaches, trails, and historical sites to explore. Pack a lunch or grab a sandwich at the deli, pack a towel and a swimsuit for the tour. We’ll take some shorter tours Sunday.
Meals: Brothers Place provides a continental breakfast. There’s a good coffee shop in town, too. Lunch can be bought at the deli or at the supermarket. There are a number of restaurants and a decent microbrewery within a 10 minute ride.
Logistics: No SAG on this trip. Bring tools, tubes, and tires. Bring some snacks and adult beverages to share on the porch; we have access to the kitchen refrigerator to keep beverages cool for happy hour. Check ferry schedule at https://www.bibco.com/ferry-schedules/ Arrive at least 1 hour before departure to drop off your bike and park. Parking is $5/day.
If you want to ride from TC to Charlevoix leaving July 11, returning July 15, register separately on the club calendar. Camping is at Barnes Park in Eastport.
