Platte River Fish Hatchery
Another area of relatively unexplored territory...
Join me for a 3+ hr gravel adventure just west and south of Interlochen. We‘ll park and ride from/to the fish hatchery, just off of US-31. The RwGPS map provides details on route, elevation & terrain.
While I haven‘t ridden this yet, it appears (from Google Maps) most of the riding will be on established gravel roads with some 2-track. Note that sandy spots ARE a possibility, so wider tires are strongly suggested. A couple of pretty good climbs, along with the distance, puts this ride in the "A" category so plan your hydration/nutrition accordingly...

Glacial Hills - Eckhardt Trailhead (2 miles W of Bellaire, .7 miles N)
Cancellation of the LSP/DHDay tour left me with a little free time...
Join me for an exploration of Glacial Hills trails! I‘m thinking of riding the outer loop clockwise for roughly 20 miles total - but there are oodles of opportunities to short cut via well-marked crossovers if anyone would prefer something a little shorter. We‘ll head out from the Eckerd Rd trailhead at 10, regroup periodically along the way, and meet back in the parking lot at 11:45-noon. With a day or two to dry out, the trail should be riding extremely well! Supposed to be a bit cooler and breezy, but you‘ll hardly notice it in the woods...
Leaving from the Cherry Bend Park, we‘ll head to Leelanau State Park for our first night, then to DH Day for our second night. These are "rustic" campsites; vault toilet, no electricity, no showers. Details and registration at https://forms.gle/SAA5qnzq8nF5ikr56 Must be a member to ride. There is a $15 fee, details in registration form.
