This tasty annual event features fresh Michigan strawberries over shortcake with real whipped cream.
Distance is 41 miles with a shorter 31 mile option available.
Both distances use the RAT route from Elk Rapids Municipal (downtown) parking lot going south of Torch Lake with 31 mile route going directly to the Alden RR Depot (and not beyond Alden), and the 41 mile version following the RAT 40-mile loop along the Clam River before returning to Alden for Strawberry Shortcake, bring $$.
A couple of hills mostly on the climb up from Torch Lake level. Not recommended eating two Strawberry Shortcakes and then attempting to climb the hill as the ride leader has done in the past.
