TART Trail parking lot east of Walgreen off Holiday Road
Ride the both directions on the Acme connector and then stop at 12:30 for lunch on the waterfront deck at the Bayview Inn Bar & Grill. Bring money. 25-28 miles. No drop ride.
This is everyone‘s favorite food ride! A ride to celebrate the end of another awesome summer of cycling.
Mountain bike ride starts at 9:30 a.m. with breakfast being served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We welcome riders of all ages and skill levels, along with their family and friends. This event is held rain or shine. Distances and pace vary, but are typically 3, 7, and 10+ miles. Terrain is Single track, with some hills and sand.
VASA Single Track lot off Supply road.
9:30 am at Pancake Breakfast approximately 10-12 miles at 9-12 mph. On unmarked single track, No drop ride. Back in time for breakfast.
A 3 day, 2 night tour on the White Pine Trail from Cadillac to Howard City, staying at the Country Inn and Suites in Big Rapids Michigan Monday and Tuesday night.
• October 7: Arrive at Bryant Park at 8:30am to load gear onto SAG Vehicle and coordinate carpool. Depart at 9:00 for Cadillac. We’ll park cars at the Cadillac-Wexford Public Library, adjacent to the White Pines Trail. We‘ll ride 42 miles to Big Rapids, stopping for lunch in Reed City or thereabouts.
• October 8: Pedal south on White Pine trail to Howard City (22 miles). Return to Big Rapids Country Inn and Suites.
• October 9: Ride back to Cadillac.
Scott Pyles has agreed to provide SAG Van services. Gravel or touring bike recommended.
Lodging: Country Inn and Suites Big Rapids is holding 5 double Queens and 5 King for us. The rate is $110 per night plus tax for either room. To get this rate call 231-527-9000 BEFORE September 13 and speak directly with the front desk rather than speaking to their reservations hotline. If you book elsewhere, request a “pet free” room. Meals: Breakfast is included at the hotel. There are good lunch options in Reed City on day one, more limited lunch options in Howard for day two. Maybe have a trail lunch on day 3. Big Rapids has a number of dinner options.

Veterans Memorial Park in Boyne City.
Meet at Veterans Memorial Park in Boyne City. Ride clockwise around Lake Charlevoix. Take the Ironton Ferry for a unique experience and to cut off South Arm of the lake. Longer option is to skip the ferry and ride the hills and extra distance. In Charlevoix, enjoy the Apple Festival.
Relatively flat on west side of lake, with hills on east return route,

Ride Old Mission Peninsula--Meet at Archie Roadside Park (left side of road when traveling north on Center road). We will ride out and back on Bluff Road. There will be "tailgating" with apple cider in the park afterwards. About 15 mile ride on flat pave surface, traveling at the pace of the slowest rider. No drop ride.

Shannahan's Soccer fields
Meet a few miles on the north side of the Charlevoix bridge at the soccer fields near the rest rooms. Plan to ride the paved Wheel Way to Bay Harbor, Petoskey and Harbor Springs. Bring money for lunch at either the Turkey Cafe & Pizzeria in Harbor Springs Or Cormack‘s deli near Bay Harbor. 30-50 miles. No drop ride.
Creative peninsula ride. Several bathroom stops
We will probably ride the traditional route up Kasben through Maple City and back on Kassen. About 45 miles with 2500 to 3000 feet of climbing, ending with a 14-15 mph average. There will be a short stop in Maple City. This is a no drop ride. Please have mercy on the ride leader who hasn‘t been putting in the miles.
Ride the Leelanau trail at the beginning and end of the ride. Otto Road and Duck Lake Road to the Nine Bean Row bakery. 38-40 miles. No drop ride.

Elk Rapids Municipal Parking Lot
(Mostly) follow the 50 mile Ride Around Torch loop clockwise around Torch Lake, except starting/ending in downtown Elk Rapids (vice the High School). Potential re-supply stop in Alden. Targeting a 15-16mph avg pace, we‘ll regroup periodically as necessary to make sure everyone‘s ok. This is a no drop ride.

It is an Invitation Only event, which each volunteer will receive by email on or about Oct. 7. Then, please use the RSVP button on this page to confirm your intention to attend, by Oct. 18, so that we can estimate our food requirements.
Social Hour begins at 4:00 PM and dinner begins at 5:00 PM.
